Case Management is a department within the Office of the Dean of Students that provides 360-degree individualized support to students who are navigating a myriad of concerns. Some of these concerns may include but are not limited to complex personal situations, extenuating circumstances, general welfare, interpersonal violence, health and wellness, and safety concerns which impact students academically.

Case Managers are here to help identify on and off campus resources and information, and most importantly support your Appalachian experience.

GRADE APPEALS
Didn't receive the final grade you were expecting? Now what?

The Final Grade Appeal Procedure provides detailed information regarding the steps a student should take to contest a final course grade. Appeals are time sensitive and should begin as soon as possible after the grade is received. While Case Management is here to support students and provide resources, we cannot change grades or influence the adjustment of student grades.

If your student is navigating a significant personal event, has had a change in behavior, has expressed they are struggling, or you are concerned about their well-being or safety you are strongly encouraged to complete the online Care and Concern Referral. If a student poses an immediate threat to self or others please call 911 or Appalachian Police Department at 828-262-2150.
